Maryland Terrapins

The Terps struggled all of last season to land a center in the transfer portal and it had an impact on their collective ceiling. The guards were the top rebounders on the season, although sophomore forward Donta Scott had a very good campaign, going for 11.0 ppg and 5.9 rpg. He’s best as a power forward though, which is why Wahab would be a tremendous fit for Maryland.

The program is a local option and assuming both Eric Ayala and Aaron Wiggins come back for their senior season, this may end up being the best possible destination for Wahab to slide in at the center position. This would be an NCAA Tournament team without question and could make some noise in the Big Dance a year from now.

Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have gone through a lot of roster turnover this offseason, including losing star guard Chris Lykes, wing Elijah Olaniyi and starting big man Nysier Brooks to the transfer portal. The loss of Brooks essentially opens up the center spot for Wahab to come in and get plenty of minutes next season.

His question will be whether the supporting cast for Miami would actually be better than what Wahab is leaving at Georgetown. Breakout sophomore star Isaiah Wong will be back and is better than any guard Wahab played with before, while forward Sam Waardenburg will be back after dealing with an injury last season. Wahab would make the Hurricanes better for sure but not likely an NCAA Tournament team without some extra transfer additions.
