Limit transition opportunities

Among the most notable moments during a game was the Suggs run-down block and that led to an impeccable pass to Drew Timme, which finished with a dunk.

Gonzaga’s offense is so dynamic, in that they will spread the floor out and win with pace off of misses. They will go to the extent of a three-fourths quarter length press, after free throws from their own team.

The Bulldogs don’t let defenses set up their sets and will run down the floor. However, the argument can be made, Baylor’s defense is playing at the right time.

Houston had 20 points in the first half of the Final Four game, with 17 coming from Marcus Sasser. The rest of the Cougars team shot just 1-15. Obviously, Gonzaga is more skilled on offense but is an impressive feat in the Final Four.

Baylor has the speed to blow by guys to score on offense, with Mitchell, Teague, and Butler at guard. However, that energy is brought over to the defensive end as well. Adam Flagler is coming off his best defensive game of the season as well.

Baylor has been able to limit transitions on previous teams, with the threat of turning the ball over. The bears have had to play two of the best ball security teams in the NCAA, in Wisconsin and Villanova.

After giving up the ball a little under nine times on average, Baylor forced 13 turnovers on Wisconsin, and 15 against Villanova.

Even with the impressive consistent offensive performances, Gonzaga has produced, Baylor will be the toughest defensive team they have played all year.

A key role in winning this game will be keeping Gonzaga from running up and down the floor off of misses and free throws. Baylor does that at an above-average rate,
