Loser – Virginia Cavaliers

For a team that won the ACC Regular Season Title, it was still a disappointing finish to the season for the then defending national champions.

After undergoing a pause before traveling to Indianapolis that included missing out on the ACC Tournament, Virginia entered the NCAA Tournament as a 4-seed. The Cavaliers however suffered a 62-58 loss in the First Round to 13-seed Ohio that ended Virginia’s chances of potentially repeating as national champions.

While you could argue that the pause affected them, this was still a disappointing end to a promising season for Virginia. Looking ahead to next season however, Virginia will most likely once again return to the top of the ACC, and will once again be in the mix to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. If there is one guarantee in college basketball based off previous years’ success however, Virginia will be back.
