Villanova Wildcats

The top program in the northeast region is the Villanova Wildcats, and with a potential point guard opening, has to be in play for a talent like Pickett. Of course, this only matters if star point guard  Collin Gillespie opts to move on after missing this past NCAA Tournament with an injury. If he’s gone, that would leave Justin Moore playing out of position of freshman guard Angelo Brizzi to lead the way next year.

Once things are clear, the Wildcats will likely look for a grad transfer point guard for one year, since both Brizzi and recent class of 2022 guard commit Mark Armstrong will be on the roster. Pickett would be the ideal player in that case, who would be playing for the top team in the Big East and a perennial tournament team.

Wichita State Shockers

This would be a wildcard option but one that needs a true point guard on its roster. With starting point guard and leading passer Alterique Gilbert set to graduate, the Shockers will need a guard to pair with reigning AAC Player of the Year Tyson Etienne in the backcourt next season to remain right at the top of the leave.

Wichita State may not be the most appealing option compared to some of the other big names on this list but it could be the best fit for Pickett in the end. The AAC is a solid league but not one that will overwhelm Pickett during the transition and the Shockers have a great fanbase and crowd for each game. He and Etienne could rival Houston for best backcourt in the ACC and would be more than good enough to make it back to the NCAA Tournament.
