No. 11 – Texas A&M Aggies

Yes, it was a disappointing 2020-2021 season in which the Aggies finished 13th in the SEC and 8-10 overall, but Texas A&M should be improved next season.

The Aggies struggled mainly offensively last season only averaging 64.3 PPG, which ranked among the worst in college basketball. While the Aggies will lose a few prominent players including Savion Flagg and Jay Jay Chandler to the transfer portal, Texas A&M will return a few notable players and a Top 25 recruiting class.

Leading scorer Emanuel Miller will return for his junior season after leading the Aggies with 16.2 PPG last season, while guards Andre Gordon, Hassan Diarra, and Jaxson Robinson will also return to College Station. Texas A&M will also add 6’11 UConn transfer Javonte Brown-Ferguson and Arkansas transfer Ethan Henderson who should both provide size and rim protection in the paint.

The Aggies can take the next leap in year three under head coach Buzz Williams however due to their recruiting class. Texas A&M brings in the #3 ranked recruiting class in the SEC (#24 nationally) headlined by 5-star guard Manny Obaseki, the second highest-rated recruit in Texas A&M history. Also bringing in 4-star point guard Wade Taylor and 3-star center Ashton Smith, the Aggies should be plenty talented with younger players.

Texas A&M will still need to go out and add to their front-court, but the Aggies are setting up for a big bounce-back in 2021-22. Yes, the Aggies will be young, but this team will have plenty of talent going into next season.
