8: T.J. Otzelberger – Iowa State Cyclones

T.J. Otzelberger is returning to Iowa State but this time as a head coach. He was an assistant under coaches Greg McDermott, Fred Hoiberg, and Steve Prohm.

Otzelberg left the program in 2016 to become the head coach at South Dakota State but, after three seasons he joined UNLV.

Otzelberg has been successful as a coach with a 99-63 record. He will have his hands full with a Cyclone team that finished with a 0-18 record in the Big 12 this season.

We can expect some improvements from the team as they will be retaining most players and recruiting a couple of big names floating around the NCAA transfer portal.

Recently, Iowa State landed Kansas transfer Tristan Enaruna. Enaruna averaged 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Enaruna will join Caleb Grill, Robert Jones, Gabe Kalscheur, and Aljaž Kunc as transfers to the Cyclones program.

7: Porter Moser – Oklahoma Sooners

The Loyola University Chicago Ramblers’ recent success and magical runs in the 2018 and 2021 Tournaments have come from the leadership of head coach Porter Moser.

Several programs have had their eyes on Moser to become their next head coach. One of those programs was the Oklahoma University Sooners.

The Sooners hired Porter Moser to become the next head coach of the program following the retirement of Lon Kruger.

After eight seasons, Moser led the Loyola Chicago Ramblers to a 188-140 record. Their magical run to the Final Four in 2018 can not be forgotten as well as their run to the Sweet Sixteen this season.

Moser has already added a couple of big transfers for next season such as Eastern Washington transfers Tanner and Jacob Groves.

Tanner was the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year this past season. He averaged 17.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, and shot 56 percent from the field.

Jacob averaged 9.3 points per game and started nearly half of the Eagles’ games this past season.
