Two years into the Fred Hoiberg era and it is not going well for the Cornhuskers. They have been really bad and it doesn’t look like it is getting better soon.

They were rarely competitive last year, but looking on the bright side they did win three conference games including a 21-point victory over Rutgers. That is about where the positives end for Nebraska.

They had a dynamic scorer in Teddy Allen, but he did not fit well with the team and they seemed to better without him on the court. He is gone now and Hoiberg is continuing to look at the transfer market to fill out the roster.

The good news is that there are a ton of players in the transfer portal so he will have a good shot at landing a few of them. When Hoiberg was at Iowa State he used the transfers to rebuild his team and it worked, but it has yet to come to fruition in Lincoln.

It is not nearly time to give up on Hoiberg but he needs to start showing some improvement or the locals are going to become restless. We just don’t see them being very good again next year and until they prove otherwise they are at the bottom of the conference.
