Shooting Guard: Hunter Sallis

Filling the shoes of four-year player Corey Kispert is a lot to ask of a freshman. Kispert was the team’s second-leading scorer and was a first-team All-American, but head coach Mark Few will be counting on Sallis to make an immediate impact next season.

Sallis is a five-star recruit out of Omaha, Nebraska, rated the 7th best player in the class of 2021 according to 247 sports. Sallis averaged over 17 a night in his 104 games for Millard North High School.

The 6’4 guard is an exceptional scorer on the wing and really thrives out in transition. Sallis may be the most athletic player in the 2021 class.  Has creative ways to get to the hole and finishes in some of the most creative ways. Should give the Zags some athleticism they were missing last season.

Adapting to the times Gonzaga is starting to land more highly touted recruits. Though the sample size is small we saw the immediate impact  Jalen Suggs had in his lone season in Spokane. Few isn’t expecting that kind of production from Sallis but will need him to step in and take some of the load off of Timme and Nembhard on both ends of the court.
