player. 169. Pick Analysis. Point Guard. Gonzaga. Jalen Suggs. 2. Scouting Report

While Cunningham is the definite #1 pick, this is where things start to get interesting. You could either take Jalen Green or Evan Mobley here. With the Rockets recently giving Christian Wood a pretty large contract, I think Houston should consider him a piece for the future. With the John Wall experiment not seeming to work out, why not take someone who could be your starting point guard for years to come.

Suggs averaged 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal on 50% shooting. Suggs had a very good season for Zaga which shot him up, draft boards. Suggs is a great decision-maker and rarely turns the ball over. He is very athletic and a great finisher around the rim. Suggs is very streaky from behind the arc and struggles shooting off of screens.

Houston already has Christian Wood is a very good young piece. Getting Suggs here would give the Rockets their franchise point guard for years to come. Drafting Suggs though would leave Houston to figure out what to do with John Wall.

At 30 years old, Wall has found himself stuck in a rebuilding situation. Wall has averaged 20 points a game this year but only on 40% shooting. With his contract, it will be hard to move Wall and we could see him be stuck in Houston next season. This would give Suggs an excellent mentor to start his NBA career.

The same heroics he brought in the Final Four against UCLA, should be duplicated in Houston.
