LSU Tigers

Arguably the most surprising team listed as a finalist for Wheeler was LSU, but could the Tigers add yet another talented guard?

As mentioned previously, LSU you could consider is a surprise finalist for the talented guard. The Tigers have already added three experienced transfer guards in Missouri transfer Xavier Pinson, Illinois transfer Adam Miller, and San Jose State transfer Seneca Knight to combine with one of the best-recruiting classes in the SEC.

So if LSU is already adding multiple impact guards, why would they need Wheeler? It’s simple, passing.

While LSU’s roster is full of capable scorers, they currently lack a truly game-changing passer with the ability to create shots for himself and others consistently. With LSU losing their top five leading scorers from last season, the scoring can be made up for, but the assists they will lose are vital to their success.

If LSU added Wheeler, he would surely step in and start at point guard immediately, even with their transfer additions. The Tigers already have a tall task ahead of them replacing last season’s stars, but adding a veteran point guard with Wheeler’s skill set would go a long way in doing that.
