Starting Lineup:

PG: Mike Miles Jr.

SG: Shahada Wells

SF: Micah Peavy

PF: Emanuel Miller

C: Kevin Samuel

Quite a few teams made different transformations, as TCU’s roster was another that was affected by it. TCU brought it in two transfers from within the state, with Texas Tech’s Micah Peavy and UT-Arlington’s Shahada Wells.

Peavy was a consistent starter on last year’s Red Raider squad but was not a major impact in the scoring column. The opposite can be said for Wells, as he averaged 16.8 points per game, on 39.3% shooting from beyond the arc.

Wells was considered one of the most decorated JUCO guards in last year’s class and proved his worth with the Mavericks.

The Horned Frogs arguably best signing came from the transfer of Texas A&M’s Emanuel Miller. Miller was the best player on a well-below average Aggies team, averaging 16.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.

Kevin Samuel returns after coming off an impressive junior campaign and coming in as one of the best centers in the conference. Mike Miles had a fantastic freshman season and is looking to add more, after being invited to the U19 USA Basketball Team, similarly to how Jared Butler did after his freshman year.

TCU has plenty of players that can put the ball in the basket and in a variety of ways. The problem is the team’s chemistry and cohesion will need time to gel.

Due to lack of success, Jamie Dixon is in a position where as long as the Horned Frogs don’t finish last in the conference, his job should be intact. The Horned Frogs miss the tournament but play well enough to earn Dixon another year.

Final Record:  18-13 (7-11)
