Green has become a star

When I said Green had an immediate impact, I wasn’t kidding, he averaged over 18 points in his first five games as a part of the Paradise Jam and nearly helped the Panthers win the MVC Tournament with 23 points in the final against Bradley. He finished the year averaging 15 points, three rebounds, and 2.3 assists to take home the conference’s Freshman of the Year award.

In his sophomore season, Green led Northern Iowa to the regular-season title and took home the Player of the Year hardware. That season also gave AJ his best basketball memories to date, “When we won the regular-season championship when we secured it when we won at Drake. Also playing at home against Drake in front of the crowd.” Green enjoyed facing Drake in his second season averaging over 22 points per game, including a career-high 34 in that home win.

Last season Green got off to a scorching start with 22 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in his first three games. Unfortunately, his season came to an abrupt end with a hip injury, but the rehab is going well and he says,” I should be fully recovered and around 100% around July 4th. The rehab is going really good, I’m slowly progressing in terms of what I can do on the court.” That is good news for AJ Green, not necessarily for the rest of the Missouri Valley.
