Baylor Bears

Fresh off a championship season, Baylor has already placed itself in a prime position to build on 2020’s performance and chase the opportunity to repeat. Inking a recruiting class just outside the top-10, the Bears have loaded up on talent in their backcourt to put forth a menacing and versatile group ahead of the 2021 season.

Head coach Scott Drew has been building momentum for years and has driven the program forward in each of the last three seasons including a total of six losses over the last two.

The success has helped to secure some of the Bears’ top incoming talent in program history, including drawing the attention of George. Should he decide to sign, the 5-star guard would tie for the 3rd-highest program ever to join Baylor and solidify the university’s chances of continuing to feature an elite basketball team for years to come. While the exact mix of guards is a bit harder to speculate on for the 2022 season, the Baylor program is becoming known for development and excellent depth.

Adding George is certainly to be among the team’s best possible pieces, should he pull the trigger. Despite the potential for a crowded rotation to exist in 2022, head coach Scott Drew had done a good job of utilizing players in a versatile manner that maximizes both their production and opportunities to contribute early in their careers. While George seeks a coach that will push him, there is a winning culture developing in Waco that will help to bring out the best in the star guard.
