4. UCLA Bruins

Projected Starting Five:

G Tyger Campbell
G Johnny Juzang
G Peyton Watson
F Jaime Jaquez
C Cody Riley

UCLA gave Gonzaga everything they had in the final four. If it wasn’t for a last-second charge call and a miracle half-court shot, we could potentially be talking about the defending champions. The good news for the Bruins, they should have everyone back off of last year’s squad. Johnny Juzang does still currently have his name in the NBA draft, though most speculate on him returning for his junior season.

Juzang will be coming off a tournament that will be remembered in Los Angeles for some time. Juzang scored over 20 points in four of his six games including 28 against Michigan and 29 against Gonzaga. If Juzang returns to school he will most likely be co-favorite for player of the year along with Drew Timme.

Jamie Jaquez is one hell of a robin, with 12.3 points per game he is an athletic swingman who has a silky smooth jumper and is know for finishing through contact at the rim. The true heart and soul of this team is Tyger Campbell, a guy who controls the pace of the game, great passer, and really dictates this team’s success. Not to mention, Peyton Watson a five-star recruit will be on campus. A super athletic wing with excellent range will give head coach Mick Cronin another toy to play with next season.

Time will tell if March was just a hot stretch or was the potential this team had in them all season long. The bottom line is the Bruins are just too talented to not be a team competing for a 1 seed. And with a lot of talent leaving from the PAC 12, they will rack up in conference wins and be a name everyone has to consider the top overall seed.
