The Zags reload for another quest at a national title. The Zags not finishing off a perfect season gave the haters a gallon of gasoline to pour on their fire. Will this finally be the season the Bulldogs finally get over the hump?

It all starts with Drew Timme. Returning for his junior year and will be one of the favorites for the national player of the year. Timme is a defensive nightmare, he can score with traditional post moves, pop a 15 footer, and even stretch out and knock down an open three. He also has a great feel for the game and great vision underneath the basket.

Nembhard is the other big returner from last season. Starting in 16 of the 32 games, he averaged 9.2 points per game. He has a tough task ahead, taking over for Jalen Suggs at the point guard position but he is certainly capable of handling the job.

The Zags currently have the number two overall recruiting class for next season. Chet Holmgren, headlines the class. The 7’1 “unicorn,” can score and defend every position on the court and is probably the most highly anticipated recruit since Zion Williamson. Hunter Sallis and Nolan Hickman are also two top 20 recruits and will be expected to provide the scoring lost by Corey Kispert and Joel Ayayi.

My money was on the Zags to win it all last year and this year is no different. It might be tough to hear but I believe this year’s team is even more talented. So many offensive weapons throughout the roster and you know Mark Few will have this team defending at a ta high level as he does each and every year.
