Maryland Terrapins

The Terps are another team going through some roster turnover. Leading scorers Aaron Wiggins and Eric Ayaya will certainly be gone after next year, while point guard and Rhode Island transfer Fatts Russell is around for just another year. But as the “local” option of the group, Maryland certainly will have a shot in this recruitment.

Far as the small forward position goes, the Terps do have a few talented players around. Hakim Hart can play at either the two or three-spots, while top-100 wing Ike Cornish is set to join the program for next season. If Cornish or Hart has a breakout campaign and solidifies the wing position, Ward would have to potentially wait a bit to start with Maryland.

Miami Hurricanes

Another team that had a roster exodus this past offseason, the Hurricanes would love to replace former top-50 wing Earl Timberlake with another in Ward. Kameron McGusty will definitely be gone by next year, leaving the wing position wide open unless 6’5 incoming freshman Nisine Poplar becomes a breakout player.

Head coach Jim Larranaga isn’t viewed to be on the hot seat but the team hasn’t done well as of late and has gone through a ton of turnover lately. The biggest selling point here is plenty of immediate playing time and being in the ACC but Ward would be entering a rebuilding situation for a program that may be close to starting over from scratch.
