Purdue Boilermakers

The Boilermakers are riding high as a program right now, bringing just about everyone back, and are projected as a top 15-10 preseason team for next season. They’ll be led by star forward Trevion Williams and rising star Jaden Ivey, both of whom likely will be gone if things go well. The team will want to benefit from being on the national radar but landing a couple more top-100 prospects like Rodgers, with this year being the best chance to beat out the Michigan schools.

Purdue already has a pair of 2022 guard commits in Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer and already has a pair of incoming freshmen forwards in Caleb Furst and Trey Kaufmann-Penn. The wing position is what’s left, with Rodgers an ideal complimentary piece for the program long-term.

Rhode Island Rams

After losing all-conference guard Fatts Russell after four years, the Rams are now in need of quality talent in order to keep up with the top-tier of the Atlantic 10. The team will have up to six seniors on the roster for next season, including wing Malik Martin.

Outside of rising sophomore guard Ishmael Leggett, there’s going to be plenty of roster turnover for Rhode Island in the next couple of years. The benefit here for Rodgers would be that he’d come in and be the focal point for the offense for however long he’s in college and not have to worry about playing time or roster competition compared to the Big Ten schools. If he’s willing to play in the A-10 for his NCAA Basketball career, the Rams may have a shot in this recruitment.
