Loyola Chicago Ramblers

Another local option for Verge could be the Ramblers, coming off a Sweet 16 appearance and returning a ton of seniors for the upcoming season. The one guy who won’t be back though is star forward and Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year winner Cameron Krutwig, who led the team with 15.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg, along with 3.0 apg.

While Loyola is bringing back most of its core, none of them averaged double figures in scoring. Bringing in a 15 ppg scorer in Verge would take a lot of pressure off of Braden Norris and Chris Clemons in the backcourt and the team would go back to being favorites in the league. Even though DePaul plays in a bigger league, the transfer guard would more likely make the NCAA Tournament with the Ramblers.

NC State Wolfpack

An under-the-radar option that could be in play is NC State and head coach Kevin Keatts, who has been willing to bring in transfers from all over the place. It was expected that they were going to lose leading scorer Devon Daniels and senior Braxton Beverly but the loss of freshman guard Shakeel Moore to Mississippi State likely took them off-guard.

That leaves another freshman guard in Cam Hayes, along with Virginia cavalier Casey Morsell, a quality defender but not known for being a big-time scorer. Verge would be a nice backcourt complement to Morsell in most lineups and gives NC State good depth to compete in the ACC.
