4. Syracuse Orange

There are lots of positive factors when it comes to Filipowski possibly going to Syracuse. It’s a nearby option in terms of location and the forward fits with the Orange’s offense. He’s comparable to former forward Marek Dolezaj and along with top-30 commit Kamari Lands would create a great 2022 class, especially if top-50 center Donovan Clingan also joins.

The biggest question though is how much longer head coach Jim Boeheim will be around. His sons, Buddy and Cornell transfer Jimmy Boeheim will be around for up to two years so Filipowski could be playing for multiple head coaches if he picks the Orange. He’ll have to quell any potential rumors on the recruiting trail to potentially win this battle.

3. UConn Huskies

With Boston College seemingly not in the picture, that would leave the Huskies as the top “local” power conference for Filipowski. Now in the Big East instead of the AAC, the program is in an even better position to land top-tier region prospects. It also helps that power forwards Isaiah Whaley and Tyler Polley will be gone after next season, leaving centers Akok Akok and Adama Sanogo in the frontcourt.

Filipowski would be a great frontcourt complement to the centers with his spacing ability and with RJ Cole and Tyrese Martin also leaving in one year, the forward prospect would have a great opportunity to have an impact on Day 1 for UConn. With four-star guard commit Corey Floyd Jr. already in the fold, Filipowski would be a great forward piece in the 2022 class.
