NCAA Basketball: Alonzo Verge, Tre Mitchell among top available transfers
8. F Elijah Childs – Bradley Braves
2020-21 stats: 14.2 ppg an 8.3 rpg
The 6’8 forward is a three-time All-MVC performer, with 90 career starts and an NCAA Tournament appearance with Bradley. There’s no question the talent for the senior but off the court legal issues have Childs status in question at the moment.
It’s unknown when the forward will be (or if) cleared to play next season so there is a chance he ultimately goes pro this offseason. But if he does end up on a new team, they’ll be getting one of the better offensive players that switched programs.
7. F/C Yor Anei – SMU Mustangs
2020-21 stats: 6.6 ppg and 2.2 bpg
After leaving Oklahoma State a year ago, Anei went to SMU. But he has limited to just 11 games played, with 10 of them coming off the bench. His stats, outside of shot blocking went down and he entered the transfer portal again.
The 6’10 forward doesn’t have much of an offensive game but he can provide legit defense inside and for 20 mpg and improve any frontcourt. His final college destination could be at the mid-major level to guarantee a starting position but this past season didn’t show what the former Cowboy and Mustang was capable of.
