Davis grew up in basketball

When Antoine Davis was born, his father Mike was at Indiana, so a lot of Antoine’s memories from early on stem from his time in Bloomington. He said, “My favorite memories from when he was at Indiana was going to the Final Four. I remember being there when they played Oklahoma (in 2002).”

He also talked about how even today he looks back at those Indiana days with his dad, “I’ll rewatch the game when they played Oklahoma, there’s a clip of me in the stands waving.”

Being around basketball his entire life, aside from his dad his basketball influences growing up were some of the biggest names in the NBA, “LeBron, Kobe, Lou Williams is my favorite basketball player, Steph Curry. Those guys that work really, really hard and don’t let anything get in their way as far as achieving their goals.”

The name that stuck out to me on that list was Williams. I asked him about the Atlanta Hawk and he said, “We have a lot of similarities, he’s someone I try to emulate. I watch a lot of his highlights, out of Steph Curry, and all of them I watch his highlights more than anybody. That’s who I try and model my game after, that’s who I feel like I play like.”
