Ohio State Buckeyes

Although he originally hails from New York, Williams has spent the last four years in the state of Ohio. Maybe he wants to stay around for another season and play for one of the best teams in the country in Ohio State. After losing star guard Duane Washington Jr., the shooting guard spot is wide open for him to take.

Assuming the Buckeyes bring back EJ Liddell, they’ll be an experienced and talented team that could use another double-digit contributor in the backcourt, as Penn State transfer point guard Jamari Wheeler isn’t much of a scorer, and incoming freshman Malaki Branham may not be ready to produce early at a high level. Williams may not be as good as Washington but at this point in the offseason is as good a No. 2 option as one can ask.

St. John’s Red Storm

Williams is from Brooklyn, New York, and the Red Storm has been killing it with local players in the past couple of years. The former Bearcat also is former high school teammate with star forward  Julian Champagnie, who led the team in points and rebounds and was All-Big East. He’s currently in the NBA Draft process and it could go either way.

Regardless of the decision, Williams and St. John’s would be a great match. He can play alongside Champagnie at the small forward position or end up being a lead option on offense, alongside Montez Mathis and Posh Alexander in the backcourt. The hometown team may have a shot no matter what Champagnie does here.
