Arkansas Razorbacks

Head coach Eric Musselman loves taking in transfers and has brought in some big names this offseason, including Chris Lykes from Miami and Au’Diese Toney from Pittsburgh. Most of their moves came on the perimeter, with Wichita State forward Trey Wade adding depth in the frontcourt but at the moment, 7’3 Connor Vanover and sophomore Jaylin Williams are the current centers on the roster.

This is coaching staff and program not afraid of bringing in big talent and in an SEC that already features elite centers, Arkansas could certainly use Cockburn to erase the one weakness on their roster and solidify its overall defense inside. Vanover was next to unplayable towards the end of last season so unless they’re sure of Williams or even Wade at the five, they could be a team interested in the Illinois center

Florida State Seminoles

This has been a program that despite having gluttony of big men, has been aggressive in terms of landing an impact center. Players such as Moussa Cisse, Tre Mitchell, and Efton Reid have been reportedly linked yet none picked the Seminoles. Despite losing Balša Koprivica, they do have 7’3 big man Quincy Ballard, 7’1 Tanor Ngom, and top-60 incoming freshman John Butler Jr.

Of course, none of them are as good as All-American Kofi Cockburn and now in his 70’s, head coach Leonard Hamilton is on the clock to get Florida State into the Final Four for the first time since 1972. With a top-5 incoming recruiting class, Houston transfer Caleb Mills and returning double-digit scorer Anthony Polite, this is already a preseason top-15 caliber team. Adding Cockburn would arguably make them the ACC favorites for next season.
