NCAA Basketball: Analyzing 5 teams in play for Memphis transfer Moussa Cisse
Creighton Bluejays
The Bluejays lost their entire starting lineup but did a great job this offseason reloading, including a top-5 overall recruiting class and KeyShawn Feazell, a 6’9 transfer forward from McNeese State. The frontcourt could still use more depth though, with just Ryan Kalkbrenner as a true center on the roster.
The pairing of Kalkbrenner and Cisse would give Creighton 40 combined minutes of true center to work with. Kalkbrenner is more of an offensive threat while Cisse is stronger on the defensive end. This would allow the staff to use various lineups depending on the situation, while still giving out enough minutes to make the veterans happy.
Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles are similar to Cincy in that they already have a number of big men on the roster capable of playing at the center position. But between Tanor Ngom, Quincy Ballard, Naheem McLeod, and top-60 incoming freshman John Butler Jr. is a combined 211 minutes played and 77 points scored.
We don’t know what they’ll do with extended playing time and Cisse wouldn’t be a massive upgrade on offense but his defense and rebounding ability fits Florida State’s system. Head coach Leonard Hamilton has become one of the top developers in the game and could be the key to turning the Memphis transfer into a true draft prospect.
