Caleb’s first year with BYU

Lohner has spent just one year with the Cougars, but it was a very productive one, netting seven points per contest and a team-high 7.1 rebounds. When the calendar turned to February, Lohner turned it on averaging 9.5 points and 8.6 rebounds over his last eight games, two of his three double-digit rebound games of the year came in the last two games of the year, the WCC Tournament final against Gonzaga and BYU’s First Four matchup with UCLA.

Unfortunately, both those games were losses and that has been the biggest disappointment for Lohner, “Coming up short, nobody likes to lose. Losing is one of the worst things in the world and it hurts. We worked hard for a lot of things and we just weren’t able to win a game when we got to the NCAA Tournament, but it’s all learning opportunities, things to grow on that we can fix and we are working for next year.”

But he enjoyed his first in Provo saying, “Winning games and getting the experience I did with the team we had. We had such a great group of guys, willing to work, willing to sacrifice for each other. It was super fun, going to the NCAA Tournament for the first time, experiences I’ll never forget.”
