Note* Cleveland would have to be awarded a top 3 pick to keep the pick.

How This Helps the 76ers

Philly decides to get what they can get for Simmons and cut ties. The Sixers get a very good young guard in Collin Sexton, who averaged 24 points, three rebounds, and four assists on 47% shooting.

This gives Philly a very lethal scorer as their second option and a guy that has a lot of room to grow. They will have to take the cap filler with Kevin Love, but would easily be able to restructure the big man’s contract. Philly would also have the potential to draft another good prospect in the 2022 draft lottery.

How This Helps the Cavaliers

Cleveland takes advantage of the horrific playoff Simmons had and looks to finish their rebuild around the former No.1 pick. Forget the recency bias on Simmons, is he still an all-star caliber player and would be unstoppable if he developed a jump shot.

This would be a great trade for Cleveland as they get to pair Simmons with Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, and whoever they decide to draft with the No.4 pick. This would be a very solid foundation for Cleveland as they look to try and get back to the playoffs.
