Can Remy Martin lead Kansas back to the top of the conference?

If there would be a poll made for Kansas Basketball fans, the fanbase would say the team did not meet expectations last season. A third-place finish in the conference and second-round exit is not what Jayhawk fans liked to see.

However, one player can help get this team over the edge and Martin has shown previously why he can be a force in the conference.

A couple of players’ tenures in Kansas did not work out the way they expected, with former five-star guard Bryce Thompson transferring to Oklahoma State. Alongside that, former JUCO star Tyon Grant-Foster is heading to Depaul.

The lone key loss from last season was guard Marcus Garrett. Garrett showed tremendous defense but lacked the No.1 scoring option last season.

The portal was still kind to the men in blue and white from Lawrence, with additions of seventh-year player Jalen Coleman-Lands, alongside Drake guard Joseph Yesufu and the before mentioned, Martin.

The Jayhawks have the luxury of bringing back three big starters from last year in guards Christian Braun, Ochai Agbaji, and forward David McCormack.

The Jayhawks are ranked in the top five nationally by many outlets, and for good reason. Martin is expected to become the No.1 option, that Jayhawk fans were hoping Garrett would be last season.

With an All-Big 12 season from multiple players, Kansas can win the Big 12 once again.
