Denver Nuggets – No. 26

Biggest need: Scoring guard

The injuries to the backcourt, including all-star Jamal Murray, ended their postseason run in just the second round. The good news for the franchise is that they effectively bring almost everyone back, with the exception of Will Barton and potentially Paul Millsap. But with Bol Bol coming off the bench and Zeke Nnaji being last year’s first-round pick, the Nuggets will likely look at the backcourt this time around.

With MVP big man Nikola Jokić being one of the best facilitators in the league, finding an elite three-point shooter to maximize the offense should be the mover, especially if Barton isn’t coming back. Quentin Grimes of Houston should be available late in the first, along with Jason Preston of Ohio if they want a proven ball-handler.

Detroit Pistons – No. 1, 37, 42, 52

Biggest need: Guards

The Pistons are very likely to draft Cade Cunningham with the first pick in the NBA Draft, giving them a generational talent in the backcourt. But this is a roster lacking talent almost everywhere else, with the exception of forward Jerami Grant.

With the three second-round picks, they could package them to get a pick in the top of the second. Adding more guards with high potential should be the move, as well as adding as much shooting as possible. Current Saddiq Bey, last season’s first-round pick is the only plus-shooting projected to be around for next season.
