Ole Miss Rebels

Kermit Davis has yet to win an NCAA tournament game at Ole Miss and coming off of a first-round loss to Louisiana Tech in the NIT he could be on the hot seat heading into next season.

Fortunately for Ole Miss, they’ve put together a solid 2021 recruiting class ranking 32nd nationally by 247 sports. Ole Miss is another team that has multiple young guards signed to their roster making the outlook at the position rather congested.

It is certainly concerning that Ole Miss had one of the worst adjusted tempo ratings in D1 basketball last season and had an offensive efficiency ranking outside of the top-100. However, Kermit Davis did put together one of the best adjusted defensive ratings Ole Miss has had in recent years which could be an encouraging sign moving forward.

Overall, with the number of guards on the roster and the uncertainty surrounding the direction of the program, I think it presents some challenges for landing Williams. Kermit Davis will look to turn things around for the Rebels in the upcoming season which could boost their chances.
