Texas A&M Aggies

Buzz Williams is a solid head coach who really resonates with recruits and their families. He put together a pretty good body of work in his first season as the Aggies head coach and followed it up with a borderline top-25 2021 recruiting class. Being in the SEC, having a guy like Buzz Williams that resonates with young players, and having their program trending in the right direction should help their pitch to Quion Williams.

Looking at Texas A&M’s stats from last season, they did not put together a good product offensively ranking nearly last in all of college basketball in adjusted tempo and outside of the top-150 in adjusted offensive efficiency. When recruiting guards like Williams, having one of the slowest offenses in the country does not help. Their defense was nothing to brag about either ranking outside of the top-100 in adjusted defensive efficiency last season.

Overall, I think Buzz Williams will have success at Texas A&M if he can turn around their horrendous offensive metrics and continue recruiting at a high level. I’m not sure how appealing their scheme is to Quion Williams but having a good recruiter like Buzz Williams should benefit them.
