The Pirates knew that Co-Big East Player of the Year Sandro Mamukelashvili was going to be gone after his spectacular past season. But they did a great job at roster building this offseason with players that have high ceilings if all things go well.

Syracuse forward Kadary Richmond was considered to be underutilized last season off the bench and when he entered the transfer portal, was highly sought-after. Seton Hall was able to win out on his recruitment and he’ll be the likely replacement for Shavar Reynolds at point guard. He’s one of the best all-around players from his class so with a larger role can become a national star.

Two other transfers the Pirates brought in includes Alexis Yetna of South Florida and Jamir Harris from American. Yetna is a consistent double-digit scorer at the power forward position and when healthy can become one of the best low-post scorers in the Big East.

As for Harris, we averaged 20.5 ppg last season at American and was a 44% three-point shooter at around nine attempts per game. So even if Richmond and Bryce Aiken don’t score much at the point guard position, Harris at the two-spot can make up for it. And by bringing him in, the Pirates also got a commitment from his brother Jaquan Harris, a three-star in the 2022 class, making it a double-win for the program.

Add that both Aiken and double-digit scoring guard Myles Cale both opting to come back for another year, Seton Hall has the depth and high-end talent to make a run back towards the NCAA Tournament.
