ACC Basketball: Top 20 impact transfers for 2021-22 season

10. Jarrod West | 5’11 Point Guard | Louisville Cardinals

While there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the arrival of Mason Faulkner (Colorado), Jarrod West is another player off the transfer market that Louisville Cardinals fans should be excited about.

West had a decorated four-year career with the Marshall Thundering Herd before hitting the market as a graduate transfer market at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season.

He earned All-Conference USA third-team and All-CUSA Defense honors in 2019-20 after pouring in 14.1 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.

He followed that up in 2020-21 with 12.5 points, 6.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per contest to earn second-team All-CUSA honors and first-team All-CUSA Defense. While his scoring dipped slightly, he still managed to put up career-highs in assists and steals per contest this past season.

In 2019-20, he shot 41.5 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from 3-point range. In 2020-21, he shot a career-high 45.8 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from behind the arc.

He’ll be looked upon to be one of the playmakers in the Cardinals backcourt. Seeing that he’s quite the defender and scorer on all three levels, look for him to play a two-way role in Louisville’s success this upcoming year.
