17. Greg Gantt | 6’8 Forward | NC State Wolfpack

Greg Gantt finds himself closer to home in the state of North Carolina with a move from the Providence Friars to the NC State Wolfpack out of the transfer portal after two seasons in the Big East.

As a freshman, he put up just 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game but still managed to start in five of his 27 appearances in 12.5 minutes of action. Gantt improved his game in Year 2, producing 4.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in 2020-21.

While he hasn’t shown efficiency from deep, he certainly has shown his ability to fly around the rim and make plays in the paint. He shot 52.5 percent from 2-point range in 2020-21 and 50 percent from inside the arc in 2019-20. If he can make plays around the rim and in the paint, he should find himself with plenty of playing time.

Gantt looks to improve an NC State frontcourt that already features Manny Bates and Jericole Hellems. Given his ability to operate on the wing and in the paint, he gives them another sizeable player to work with in the rotation.

He’s got nice length, athleticism and a strong frame that allows him to play multiple roles on the floor. It will be interesting to see how his final two seasons go.
