Point Guard

Starter: J.D. Davison

Starting at point guard will undoubtedly be the 15th overall prospect, and third overall point guard in the Class of 2021, J.D. Davison. Davison is an incredible talent who is explosive and has already drawn comparisons to the likes of Russell Westbrook, and Ja Morant, which is a hefty comparison for someone who hasn’t even stepped on a college court yet, but it’s pretty accurate.

Davison can do anything on the basketball court from throwing down SportsCenter Top-10 worthy dunks, can hit pull-up jump shots, shots from outside the perimeter, and has handles that will terrify defenders.

Davison has the opportunity to be one of the best players on the court whenever he takes the floor, in high school he notched a quadruple-double when he went for 29 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, 11 steals, and also added five blocks on top of it. If that doesn’t tell you that this kid is capable of being a star at Bama, I’m not quite sure what will.

At the end of the day, you can 100% expect J.D. Davison to start for the Crimson Tide in his freshman season, and you can also expect him to fill that position effectively.

Bench: Keon Ellis/Jahvon Quinerly

Keon Ellis is a 6’6” guard who typically plays shooting guard, but because Alabama has so many guards this year, you might see him on the court in some other scenarios this year. For most of the season, you should expect to see three guards in the starting lineup for the Crimson Tide because of how many they have.

Ellis will likely not be the primary ball-handler when on the court as he will likely be on the court when either J.D. Davison or Jahvon Quinerly is on the court, but you can’t be too sure of what might happen this season.

The reason I have Jahvon Quinerly as the third-listed player at the point guard position is that I believe he will be one of the three starting guards for Alabama this season, and for that reason, he will already be on the court.
