9. Malik Curry, West Virginia

2020-2021 stats: 15.7 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.9 SPG, 45% FG

Curry proved his first two years at Old Dominion to be a scorer and above-average defender. It led him earning All-CUSA this past season and led the Monarchs to a bounce-back season in 2021 with a 15-8 record, after finishing 13-19 the year prior.

The transition will be the question for Curry, as the undersized 6-1 guard is hoping to make the same impact in Morgantown. Guard Miles McBride is on to the NBA and West Virginia is hoping to get back to their spot within the Big 12 last season.

Curry’s three-point shot could use some work and defensively, will need to have a higher motor in the Big 12.

Curry has the intangibles and the resources around him to be a formidable guard in the Big 12.

Although Curry lands at the No. 9 spot currently, Curry could easily climb his way up the ranks.

The Mountaineers have a good core of playmakers, to take the ease off of Curry, with Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil returning.

Unless Sherman’s role off the bench is gone, Curry should be the day one starter.
