2020-2021 stats: 10.4 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 41% FG

The roster Mark Adams has had to make over the past couple of months has put the point guard spot into question. I believe McCullar ends up taking the spot, as he’s proved to be a good ball-handler and a matchup nightmare at 6-foot-6.

Mac McClung took the point guard duties last season, but is currently with the Los Angeles Lakers, after an impressive collection of performances in the NBA Summer League.

McCullar is still a project, that has some work to do at the point guard spot but has the potential for great production.

The Red Raiders do come into the season, with proven production in Davion Warren. The Hampton transfer averaged 21.2 points per game while recording 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals.

Warren was among the highest volume shooters in 2020-2021, averaging 16.4 per game and connecting on just 30% from beyond the arc.

Warren’s long length helps on defense and intercepting passes with his 52 steals from last season.

Both contenders for the spot stand at 6-foot-6, with Warren having experience at the guard position. Although I expect Warren to start, the transition from the Big Sky to Big 12 will be a massive step up in defenses and overall talent.
