Rahsool Diggins

Point Guard, 6’1”, 160 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: 4-star, 57th nationally

Dan Hurley’s recruiting classes have had a northeast flavor and this year is no different. Rahsool Diggins is a Pennsylvania native who will be a fan favorite in no time, in fact, he probably already is. The Philly point guard was the first 2021 UConn commit, picking the Huskies over a slew of other high major offers including Villanova and Florida. He quickly turned to recruit UConn’s top targets, Jordan Hawkins and Samson Johnson. Husky fans will, of course, be fans of his production on the court as well.

As a sophomore and junior in high school, Diggins received All-state honors. He capped his senior season off by being named the Pennsylvania Sportswriters Class 6A All-State Player of the Year. In addition, Diggins was named the MaxPreps  2020-2021 Pennsylvania High School Basketball Player of the Year after leading the Archbishop Wood High School boys’ basketball team to a 19-1 record, with their only loss coming by one point in the state championship game, in which Diggins scored 25 points.

For the season, Diggins put up big-time numbers. He averaged 16.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 6.7 APG, and 3.5 steals per game. Diggins will have to gain some weight, but he is competitive and confident. Diggins dictates the pace of the game on offense and doesn’t let the defense speed him up. Look for Diggins to be the consummate 4-year Husky guard.
