Three Guard/Small Forward

Starter: Matthew Mayer

Mayer is the unicorn of this Baylor team, with excellent athleticism and a good touch on his three-point shot standing at 6-foot-9.

Mayer made multiple impact plays during the season and some that switched the momentum of games.

The senior put his name in the NBA Draft, before returning to Baylor for his final season during the summer.

Mayer has an excellent mid-range shot and is smooth enough to get to the basket with relative ease. With an expanded role and his first starts of his career on the horizon, Mayer is expected to be a top-three scorer on the team.

The ceiling on Meyer is high, with the upside in athleticism and three-point shot-making, at 39.5% last season.

Bench: Jordan Turner/Jackson Moffatt

The bench behind Mayer takes a dip in talent but has the potential to be solid contributors. Turner was used in late-game situations with big leads and made 5 of his 19 shots attempted.

Turner played basketball at Sunrise Christian in Kansas and was a four-star out of high school.

With Mayer and Kendall Brown, where Turner fits within the lineup is unclear. Moffatt is a walk-on who has been with the program over the past two seasons

Similar to Turner, Moffatt has been used in blowout games and did not make a single shot last season.

Although the bench is a concern, neither of these players is expected to earn significant playing time.
