Starter: Jonathan Tchamwa-Tchatchoua

Although with Thamba being the starter all of last season, Tchamwa-Tchatchoua showed his values on the team of having good ball-handling, a relentless motor, and extreme athleticism.

Where Tchamwa-Tchatchoua shines is his ability to get down the floor and make an impact, even with the lucrative amount of talent surrounding him.

Tchamwa-Tchatchoua became a matchup nightmare, especially in the pick-and-roll game, during the NCAA Tournament.

With the new scheme and different players rising, Baylor won’t rely on three-guard lineups as often. This will open more minutes and opportunities for set plays for Tchamwa-Tchatchoua to cash in on.

Bench: Flo Thamba/Zach Loveday

Although Thamba could very well have his starting position secured for a second consecutive season, I believe his role will be receiving significant minutes off of the bench.

Thamba has been with the program since 2018-2019 and has made strides in his defensive game. He doesn’t get called nearly as often on the offensive end as Tchamwa-Tchatchoua and his ceiling of potential isn’t quite as high.

Even with that being the case, Thamba will continue to have a big impact, especially with his 56% shooting from the field and four rebounds a game.

Loveday saw action, primarily during blowouts this past season. Although Loveday did not display a bunch, he showed potential for a consistent three-point shot in high school.

Loveday is from Gallipolis, Ohio, and was ranked a four-star by 247. It will be difficult for Loveday to see playing time, but the potential is there for it. Unlike the attrition at guard, the frontcourt reloads, especially with the addition of Brown playing tall ball lineups.
