9. Will the Butler Bulldogs return to their glory days?

This season looks to be a turning point for LaVall Jordan and the Butler Bulldogs in the Big East basketball landscape.  They haven’t made the last two NCAA Tournaments, not counting the season it was canceled (2019-20) and they went 22-9. Outside of that, they hold a record of 26-32 under Jordan.

In a landscape where roster turnover has almost become the norm, the Bulldogs return six of their top producers from a season ago. With a ton of team chemistry and some added experience on the roster, could this be the year Butler gets back to the top of the conference after going 8-12?

The arrival of Ty Groce (Eastern Michigan) should change the trajectory of the frontcourt in 2021-22. He was quite the productive player in the frontcourt, posting 15.2 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, and 1.3 spg in 2020-21 for the Eagles. He should help improve a squad that finished last in the conference in rebounds (31.1 rpg).

Bryce Nze and Bryce Golden, the Bulldogs leading rebounders from a season ago, alongside Groce should certainly boost their profile on the rebounding front.

Chuck Harris and Myles Tate both had productive freshman seasons in the backcourt and with some help on the way on the interior, look for the Bulldogs to turn things around in 2021-22.
