3. Can Georgetown make it back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances?

The Georgetown Hoyas surprised everybody in the Big East basketball world with a magnificent run to the Big East Conference Tournament title in 2020-21. Despite the odds, the Hoyas managed to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance under Patrick Ewing and their first since 2015.

The Hoyas will have some holes to fill in the frontcourt with the departures of Qudus Wahab (Maryland), Chudier Bile (Pro), and Jamorko Pickett (NBA), but they return this year looking to change things with the arrival of five-star Aminu Mohammed.

They were Big East basketball’s best 3-point shooting team last season, at least from a shooting percentage standpoint, with a 36.5 percent from behind the arc while knocking down 8.3 3-pointers per game.

While the departure of Wahab hurts, the arrival of Mohammed will change the dynamic a ton for the Hoyas, in a good way. He’s a do-it-all wing who’s just scratching the surface of what he can do as a scorer, playmaker, and defender.

They’ll need to rebuild their frontcourt which also led the Big East in rebounds (38.6 rpg) last season but Tre King (Eastern Kentucky) is set to do that after Coach Ewing landed him out of the transfer portal. With a sound floor general in Jalen Harris returning, look for the Hoyas to make some more noise in the Big East in 2021-22.
