3. Jalen Coleman-Lands

The 6-4  sharpshooting super-senior guard is making his fourth stop, following previous stints at Illinois, DePaul, and Iowa State. He is also a scrappy versatile defender who can guard 1 through 4. Coleman-Lands compiled 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 2.0 turnovers. The Indianapolis native also posted a shooting slash line of .390/.370/.810.

Coleman-Lands could start in a 3-guard lineup, although I expect him to be the Jayhawks’ 6th man.

2. Joseph Yesufu

The 6-0 point guard transfer from Drake showed tremendous improvement in year two.  Yesufu averaged 12.8 points, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.5 3-pointers while posting an effective field goal percentage of 51.7%, which was good enough to earn MVC Sixth Man of the Year honors. He upped his scoring output over the last nine contests to 23.2 points a game as the Illinois native torched the nets for over 20 points in seven of those contests, topping the 30-point mark twice with each occasion coming against Evansville.

"“Joseph is an explosive, dynamic scoring guard that will allow us to play an up-tempo, aggressive style on both ends of the floor,” Self said. “He ended last season playing at a high level, including winning an NCAA tournament game and propelling Drake to a great season.”"

Yesufu will likely see around 15-20 minutes as Remy Martin’s understudy.

1. Remy Martin

Martin decided to transfer KU, from ASU, after he withdrew from the NBA draft. The 6-0 point guard led the Pac-12 with 19.1 points per game to go along with 2.04 3-pointers, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals. He is an electric scorer, topping the 30-point mark four times and tallying at least 20 points on 12 occasions.

"“Remy is a guy that had great success at Arizona State being preseason first-team AP All-American last year, first-team all-conference the last two years, and sixth man of the year in his league his freshman season, Self said. “We saw him up close on two different occasions where he got the best of us. I’m certainly glad he’s on our side moving forward. I think those are all reasons to be excited about him coming here and helping our basketball team achieve special things this upcoming season.”"

Martin enters his final collegiate season with 1,754 points, 466 assists, 151 steals, and 176 three-point field goals made.

Martin is expected to start at point guard.

Bottom line: Self did a great job with the Jayhawks 2021 recruiting class as he brought in veterans, who have the chance to help KU reach the Final Four, and a bunch of athletic players.  The youngsters, including Yesufu as he has three years of eligibility left, all have promising futures. Grade A+
