2. Jarrod West

West is one of two playmakers the Cardinals are adding in their backcourt. He had a career year in 2020-21 with the Marshall Thundering Herd. He averaged a career-high 6.0 apg and 2.5 spg along with 12.5 ppg and 3.5 rpg this past season while earning second-team All-CUSA honors and first-team All-CUSA Defense this past season.

He’s a floor general with good instincts on both ends of the floor, which could make the point guard position battle quite an interesting one for Chris Mack. West is an active 5-foot-11 floor general that can shoot the 3-ball (40.3 percent in 2020-21) and get after it defensively. Look for him to make waves on the Louisville basketball roster in 2021-22.

1. Mason Faulkner

Faulkner is another prized floor general joining the Louisville ranks set to advance their playmaking in 2021-22. He originally decided on Colorado before choosing the Cardinals.

He’s a two-time All-SoCon performer after spending the past three seasons at Western Carolina, including a redshirt season. He put up 17.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.5 apg, and 1.2 spg across 53 appearances (48 starts) for the Catamounts from 2019-21.

The 6-foot-1 point guard also managed to shoot 35.5 percent from 3-point land while pacing the Catamounts scoring and playmaking this past year. He’ll look to do the same with the Cardinals in the ACC basketball ranks.
