Power Forward

Starter: Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe

Alexander-Moncrieffe was among the 2020 class that made an immediate impact and grabbed the attention of the Orange and Black faithful quickly.

Alexander-Moncrieffe’s 51% shooting on the season ranks sixth all-time among Oklahoma State freshmen and added 2.4 offensive rebounds per game, good for sixth in the Big 12.

The former four-star recruit, Alexander-Moncrieffe is used to have elite talent around him, playing for the Canadian team in BioSteel, alongside current NBA players, R.J. Barrett and Thon Maker.

The consistency Alexander-Moncrieffe brought is key and knowing even if the team has slumped, Alexander-Moncrieffe can be counted on with his offensive and high-end speed for his height.

Bench: Keylan Boone/Woody Newton

One-half of the Boone brothers is expected to see a good amount of time off the bench.

Although Keylan is not the same shot-blocker as Kalib, Keylan’s defense holds his own and runs the floor well. Keylan’s rebounding is a plus and had multiple double-figure rebound games this past season.

Boone will get plenty of minutes and a few opportunities to start at certain points of the season.

Woody Newton spent his last season with Syracuse and had limited time on the floor for the Orange. He shot a pedestrian 46% from the field and failed to score double-digits on the season.

Newton’s role with this team will be curious and if he made a move from one role to the same one in a different conference.
