Forward

Malik Osborne looks to be the leading name to start at the forward spot. He’s a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward that averaged 5.9 ppg and 4.5 rpg mainly as a reserve in 2020-21, but given his returning production power, he leads the way as the starting forward in the frontcourt.

Despite his size, he’s got a knack for operating inside and out, after shooting 35.6 percent from 3-point range and 42.2 percent from the field this past season. He also grabbed 34 offensive rebounds and turned in a defensive rating of 99.7, finishing 20th in ACC basketball. His blend of rebounding and defensive prowess should carry him this season in the rotation.

John Butler Jr. is an emerging freshman at 7-foot-1 with potential as a high-flying rim runner, rim protector and rebounder as a reserve. He’s certainly thin for his size at 190 pounds, but his ability to stretch the floor and shoot the 3-ball should carry him in 2021-22.

If Florida State goes small and wants to change pace, look for Cam’Ron Fletcher to pop in. At 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, he’s capable of guarding wings/forwards given his athleticism and length. He looks for a fresh start after appearing in just nine games of action for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2020-21.
