Center

Florida State basketball has a couple of centers over 7-foot to work with in 2021-22, which should make for an interesting time scoring against the Seminoles in the paint. 7-foot-3 Naheem McLeod is the leading name after joining the lineup from Chipola College.

McLeod averaged 5.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 1.5 bpg while knocking down 69.4 percent of his shots. He’s got nice awareness as a traditional big man around the rim and brings nice length to the interior. If he can stay on the floor and prove effective at the anchor position, look for him to have a big season.

Quincy Ballard is a returning name that should challenge for minutes at the 5-spot. He’s a 7-footer that made 18 appearances for 3.4 minutes of action in 2020-21. He’s set to earn a role after playing sparingly this past year.

7-foot-2 Tanor Ngom is a darkhorse name to know in the rotation. He put up 2.4 ppg and 1.7 rpg across 23 appearances in 2020-21 while appearing in just 6.5 mpg. While it’s early, his defensive rating at 94.4 is hard to not ignore when breaking down his numbers.  As his minutes increase, look for his production to do the same.
