Seton Hall Basketball: Analyzing Pirates 2021 incoming recruiting class
4. Jo Smith
Jo Smith joins the Seton Hall basketball ranks after spending the past season at Chipola College. He’s a 6-foot-10 big man that should add depth and size to the Pirates frontcourt whether in the starting rotation or as a reserve in 2021-22.
He averaged 3.4 ppg and 2.8 rpg in 9.9 minutes of action across 24 appearances while shooting 65.9 percent from the field. He’s set to boost the interior with his length and athleticism.
3. Brandon Weston
Brandon Weston is set to make a name for himself in the Seton Hall basketball lineup as their most prized recruit since 2015. He’s a four-star prospect that was stellar at Hillcrest Prep in 2020-21, posting 18.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 3.1 apg, 2.5 spg, and 2.2 bpg on the national level.
Weston chose the Pirates over Western Illinois, Michigan, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, and Illinois. He’s a versatile wing at 6-foot-5 from Morgan Park High (2019-20) that looks to follow the blueprint of Isaiah Whitehead and Myles Powell by joining the Kevin Willard-led Pirates.
He’s a name that should turn heads in his debut season with Seton Hall basketball in 2021-22 with his ability to play at the rim and defend multiple spots on the floor.
