Georgetown Basketball: 2021-22 season preview and outlook for Hoyas

Georgetown basketball won’t have to travel for their first three games of the 2021-22 season with Dartmouth (Nov. 13) to open the season followed by American (Nov. 16) and Siena (Nov. 19) before traveling to Anaheim to face San Diego State (Nov. 25) in the Paycom Wooden Legacy. They’ll face USC/Saint Joseph’s depending on results on Nov. 26.
They return home on Nov. 30 to face Longwood then travel to Columbia to face South Carolina (Dec. 5) before four-straight home contests against UMBC (Dec. 8), Syracuse (Dec. 11), Howard (Dec. 15), and the TCU Horned Frogs (Dec. 18) in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. After that, the Hoyas jump right into conference action.
Georgetown basketball will have their work cut out for themselves with their first two games of the Big East basketball schedule coming on the road against Providence (Dec. 22) and Creighton (Dec. 28). They’ll certainly get all they can handle from the Bluejays after defeating them in the 2021 Conference Tournament title game this past March.
After that, it’s another four-straight home games with St. John’s (Jan. 1), Xavier (Jan. 4), Marquette (Jan. 7), and Butler (Jan. 13) on the agenda. Then they’ll travel to St. John’s on Jan. 16, host Villanova on Jan. 22 before two road contests against UConn (Jan. 25) and Butler (Jan. 29).
The Hoyas will open the month of February against Seton Hall (Feb. 1) and Providence (Feb. 6) at home then face DePaul (Feb. 9) on the road, host Creighton (Feb. 12) at home before two road games against Marquette (Feb. 16) and Villanova (Feb. 19).
In the final four games on the schedule, two home games against DePaul (Feb. 24) and UConn (Feb. 27) before closing things out on the road against Seton Hall (March 2) and Xavier (March 5).
