2. Who is the third-most important player (after Duren and Bates) for Memphis?

Watson

Given my generally low expectations for Jalen Duren, DeAndre Williams could actually surpass him as Memphis’ second-best player. Williams is one of the best, most versatile defenders in the country and an efficient scorer. Williams might not be a 30-point scorer, but he is the classic example of a player who knows how to impact winning in virtually every way imaginable.

Burgess

DeAndre Williams is the Tigers’ third-best player, the 6’9 senior can play with Duren and help anchor the Memphis defense. On the other end of the floor, playing with Duren could open things up for him with the star freshman likely getting the defense’s focus.

Loose

Landers Nolley was the leading scorer last season for the Tigers and he’ll play an important role this season, even if the offensive gameplan at Memphis is a bit different with those two high-profile bigs down low.
