Maryland Basketball: 3 takeaways from Terrapins win against George Washington

Big game from Qudus Wahab
There is no doubt that if people did not believe that transfer Qudus Wahab was for real, with that performance last night, there should not be any question that when it is all said and done, that Wahab will be one of the best players in not only the Big 10 but in the Country.
In his first game as a Terp against Quinnipiac, he scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. His second game as a Terp was more impressive as he scored 18 points and had a career-high 15 rebounds. Wahab was a force on both ends of the floor, as offensively he dominated the post and on the defensive end, just his presence alone as a rim protector made it difficult for GW.
In just his second game as a Terp, he posted his first double-double and the 10th in his career, scoring double-digit points for the 26th time in his career, and was his 11th career game with 10 plus rebounds. It was also the most rebounds for a Terp’s since Jalen “Stix” Smith grabbed 19 against Northwestern (2/19/2020).
Wahab is also the first Maryland player since Terp’s great Steve Francis to score 15 plus points in his first two games as a Terp. Francis scored 17 points in each of his first two games against Western Carolina (11/14/98) and UMBC (11/17/98). There have been alot of great players since Francis, so Wahab is well on his way to being a Terp great.
